Text Erase Effect

Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a New Document in Photoshop. 400x150 height/width.
2. Choose Black as your foreground color.
3. Select the Type tool. Choose whatever font you want. Type something on your canvas.

4. Goto Layer > Duplicate Layer. Click OK.
5. Select the text on the duplicate layer and change the color to light grey.

6. Right click the Duplicate Layer. Select "Rasterize Layer" from the pop-up window.
7. Select the Eraser tool. Select an appropriate size brush.
8. Zoom in on the text and begin erasing the gray from the areas you want in order to create your pattern.

9. When you are done, goto Layer > Flatten Image. You should now have your Text Erase Effect pattern.
