Sims Balloons
Summary:
If you are familiar with the SIMS games, then you know that the dialogue balloons contain photos to represent what the person is thinking or saying. In this Photoshop tutorial, we will learn how to make a SIMS balloon that has a photo or picture in it.
Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open an image of the person you want to give a Sims Balloon to.

2. Create a new layer. Name it "Sims Bubble".
3. Select the Custom Shape Tool. Click the Shape dropdown box at the top menu and choose the Thought Bubble shape.
4. Choose Black (or any other foreground color) and draw your Though Bubble into the picture.

5. Select the Magic Wand tool. Click the large bubble so that it is selected.
6. Goto Select > Modify > Contract. Then contract by 4 px (or more depending on size of image).
7. Goto Select > Feather. Set Feather Radius to 1px.

8. Click the Delete key. There should now be a white empty area erased from the center of the Thought Bubble.

9. Create a new layer below the "Sims Balloon" layer. Name this layer "Thought Image".
10. Paste a photo or image onto the "Thought Image" layer.

11. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool. Create a oval selection that fits perfectly around the line of the large thought bubble.

12. Goto Select > Inverse.
13. Click the Delete key.
14. You should now have your Sims Balloon.

15. Optional: You can apply this same technique with any image or object. Have fun with it!
