Puzzle Piece Photo
Summary:
A fun way of presenting your photos is by editing those photos into a puzzle piece. In this Photoshop tutorial, we will learn how to create a 3D puzzle piece with any photo imprinted on it.
Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a New Document in Photoshop. Set the height/width to 400x400 px.
2. Create a new layer. Name it "Photo". Paste your Photograph or Image onto the "Photo" layer.
3. Create a new layer. Name this layer "Puzzle Piece".
4. Select the Custom Shape tool.
5. Click the Shape dropdown menu at the top and select the puzzle piece shape.
6. Choose black as your foreground color, then click and drag the puzzle piece shape onto the "Puzzle Piece" layer (overlapping the photo or image on the "Photo" layer below).
7. Select the Magic Wand tool. With the "Puzzle Piece" layer active, click on the puzzle piece shape.
8. Goto Select > Inverse.
9. Select the "Photo" layer so that it is active.
10. Click the Delete key and you should now just see the puzzle piece.
11. Click Ctrl+D to deselect.
12. Click the "Eye" icon next to the "Puzzle Piece" layer in the layers palette.
13. After clicking the "Eye" icon, this will hide the puzzle piece so you can only see the "Photo" layer below.
14. Right click the "Photo" layer in the layers palette. Choose "Blending Options" from the pop-up list.
15. Set the properties for "Drop Shadow" to the following:

17. Click OK and you should now have your Puzzle Piece Photo.
