Dual Reality Doorways
Summary:
Have you ever wanted to create a scene with a twilight zone feeling to it. In this Photoshop tutorial, we will learn how to create a door that looks as though it is leading into another reality.
Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open two seperate photos in Photoshop.
(An open doorway photo with surrounding environment. This could be an open door from the viewpoint of inside a house.)
(A background that you want to use in the dual reality.)
2. Make sure the doorway photo is not on the background layer. It should be on its own layer.
3. Copy and paste the dual reality background onto the door photo. Make sure the dual reality background photo is on its own layer also.
4. Click Ctrl+T to enter Free Transform Mode and use the shape handles to size the dual reality background so it covers up the doorway on the layer below.
5. Move the dual reality background photo layer below the doorway photo.
6. Select the Eraser tool. Begin erasing the image inside the doorway so the dual reality background shows through from the layer below.
7. When you finish erasing, you should now have your Dual Reality Doorway.
