Darker Skin Tan
Summary:
Suppose you have a photograph where your skin is not quite as tan as you would like it to be. Well, this is the tutorial for you. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to change pale or lighter skin so that it looks darker and more tanned in appearance.
Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a photograph of the person that you want to give a darker tan skin shade.

2. Click the "Edit in Quick Mask Mode" toggle button.

3. Choose black as your foreground color. Select the Paint Brush tool and begin painting over the person's skin in the photograph. Remember that when you paint in Quick Mask Mode, it appears as a transparent red.

4. You may need to use smaller brush sizes to get into certain areas. When you are done, the entire person's skin should appear red as in the following image.

5. Click the "Edit in Standard Mode" toggle button.

6. Goto Select > Inverse. Now all of the person's skin should be selected.

7. Goto Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast. Adjust the Brightness slider to the left and the Contrast slider to the right until you get the darkness of tan that you desire. Click OK.
8. Click Ctrl+D to deselect and you should now have your person with a darker tan skin.
